“I love seeing the relief that comes when someone realizes they don't have to figure everything out alone.”
Hi, I’m Catherine,
I'm an End-of-Life Practitioner, Death Doula, Elder Companion, licensed Funeral Director, and the founder of Beyond Legacy. While those titles describe what I do, they don't really explain why I do it.
At the heart of it all, I simply love people.
I love sitting with families during difficult seasons. I love creating space for conversations that most people avoid. I love helping people find peace in the middle of uncertainty. And I love seeing the relief that comes when someone realizes they don't have to figure everything out alone.
How It All Began…
Over the last 20 years, I've had the privilege of serving my community through end-of-life care, funeral service, and mission work. My journey into this profession actually began while working on an ambulance. It was there that I first realized how much a calm presence, a listening ear, and genuine compassion could impact families during some of the hardest moments of their lives.
That's why I do what I do.
I truly believe that planning ahead isn't morbid.
It's one of the greatest acts of love we can give the people we care about.
That experience changed me.
Since then, I've worked in funeral service, forensic care, willed-body donation programs, and alongside countless individuals and families preparing for or walking through the end of life. Those experiences have given me a unique perspective on what happens after someone dies, but even more importantly, they've shown me what families need long before that day ever comes.
I've learned that most people aren't afraid of death itself.
They're afraid of not knowing what to expect.
They're afraid of leaving their loved ones with difficult decisions.
They're afraid of talking about something that everyone experiences but almost no one feels comfortable discussing.
